Renewal isn't about becoming someone new. It's about getting back to yourself.

Just a quick check-in this morning to stay committed to renewal.

I had a really good day yesterday. I skipped all the sweets, and my blood sugar is moving down on its own again. No meds so far!

That is actually what got me motivated to start again. I DON’T WANT TO TAKE MEDS!!!! I know I need to get myself back on track if I want to avoid that, and seeing my numbers start moving back down gives me even more motivation to keep going.

I am trying B1 right now because I have recently come across some research about diabetes and thiamine deficiency that really caught my attention. I decided it was worth looking into, so I picked up MicroIngredients Benfotiamine, a fat-soluble vitamin B1 with coconut oil.

Some of the research I’ve found claims that people with diabetes can have problems with thiamine getting where the body actually needs it, and that benfotiamine may be better utilized because it is fat soluble. I still need to do a LOT more research because there is a lot of information out there and I want to understand it better instead of just taking everything I read as fact.

I also want to see what I can find out about actually testing for a thiamine deficiency.

For now, I’m trying the B1 alongside my Blood Balance Tea blend and just seeing what happens.

I am also getting more movement into my day. I started yesterday with a walk and plan to do the same thing this morning. Nothing extreme. Just a small walk to get some movement, fresh air, and sunlight in before I start my day.

Next week shifts into a whole new season around here. I will have almost a whole new group of kids, different schedules, and an entirely different routine to figure out.

Honestly, I think the timing might be pretty perfect.

I am a routine person. I do the same things day after day, and once I get into a routine, I tend to stick with it. The problem is that sometimes it is really hard for me to add something new to a routine that is already established.

Next week I don’t really have a choice. My routine is changing whether I like it or not. LOL

So why not build my new lifestyle routine right alongside my new work routine?

Instead of trying to figure out where to squeeze things into my old routine, I can start building my morning walk, tea, supplements, movement, and better choices into the new one from the beginning.

Having a new group of kids start and being forced into a new routine might actually be pretty perfect timing.

I suppose we shall see!

If you are working on your own renewal right now, my advice is pretty simple: stop waiting for the perfect time to start.

Start where you are and work with the life you actually have.

You don’t have to change everything at once. Pick something small and start there. Take a walk. Drink more water. Skip the sweets today. Go to bed a little earlier. Whatever makes sense for YOU.

And if something in your life is changing anyway, maybe instead of fighting the change, use it.

What do you want your new routine to look like?

You don’t have to have it all figured out. I sure as hell don’t.

Just start.

Journal With Me

1. What is ONE small thing I can do today that supports the life I am trying to create?

2. What part of my current routine is no longer working for me, and what could I do differently?

3. If I could build my daily routine from scratch, what would I make sure was included?
