Progress feels different when you stop measuring how far you have left and start noticing how far you've already come.

It is quiet.

And I know it will be quiet for the next seven hours.

Then I will be blessed with the little people I call my grandkids.

And this time… Grandma won't be stressed out and burnt out. I will actually get to enjoy my time with them.

This morning is mine.

I have all morning to create, think, and enjoy some time with me. It was a week full of serving others. This morning is about filling my own cup.

I've already done a little therapy this morning—getting my thoughts out, brainstorming, and clearing my mind. Now I'm waiting on my next cup of coffee so I can sit down and enjoy my blog with all of you.

Last night I picked back up on brainstorming Phase 5 and decided it was time to get it done. The problem was, it just wasn't flowing. No matter how much I tweaked this or adjusted that, it wasn't hitting the right vibe.

After a couple of hours, I realized the problem wasn't me.

It just doesn't fit.

So I went back to Phase 4, hoping it would bring some clarity, and boy did it ever.

Phase 4 is wrong too. Dang it! LOL.

Well, not completely wrong, but it definitely needs to be restructured. So now Phase 4 is under construction and Phase 5 is going to have to wait a little longer.

At first, I panicked.

I should be writing Phase 6 already.

But then I remembered something important.

This program is being built in real time.

I have to feel it for it to be right.

Rushing to get it done simply because it's "time" isn't going to create a good program. The right program is worth taking the time to build correctly.

Working through Phase 4 reminded me of something else too.

I need to celebrate my victories.

I need to stop focusing on how far I still have left to go and take a minute to appreciate how far I've already come.

I need to clap for myself.

Because honestly, I have come a lot farther than I have been giving myself credit for.

Reflection is so important.

It shows us our progress—or our lack of progress. It helps us see what is working and what isn't. It shows us the next step when we can't see the whole path. Most importantly, it gives us a reason to keep going.

It took me sixteen months from start to finish to complete the move of the daycare and the shop.

Sixteen months.

That is a long time.

And let me tell you, there were plenty of moments when I had enough and wanted to quit. But deep down, I knew this was an important part of my journey.

Now I am stepping into the next chapter of Mind Body Soul while still continuing my own 365 Days of Me journey.

I pushed much of it to the side while I focused on finishing the shop. Now I'm coming back to it.

And this time, I'm all in.

I even grabbed a copy of my 30-Day Autopilot Rewire from the shop last night and started it before bed.

No, I'm not starting over.

I'm returning to a practice that works.

Journaling keeps me connected to myself and my goals. It keeps me mindful of the direction I am heading. It helps me brainstorm where I want this path to take me. It helps the seeds I plant grow roots and build a strong foundation.

It helps me expand.

It keeps me excited.

And maybe most importantly, it helps me clear out the junk that holds me back.

It quiets the voice that beats me up.

It quiets the doubt that creeps in.

Brainstorming and brain-dumping have become some of the most powerful tools in my journey. They help me stay clear-minded, and I can definitely tell when I've stepped away from them for too long.

I am excited about this chapter.

I am excited to reconnect with myself.

And I cannot wait to see where this next season of growth leads.

If there is one thing I have learned, it is that growth doesn't always come from pushing harder. Sometimes growth comes from pausing long enough to reflect, celebrate your progress, and reconnect with the habits that helped you get this far.

Take time to look back today.

Not to judge yourself.

Not to criticize yourself.

Simply to recognize how far you have come.

You may be a lot closer to the life you are building than you realize.

Journaling Prompts

  1. What victory have I accomplished recently that I haven't fully celebrated?

  2. What habit or practice helps me stay connected to myself, and how can I bring more of it back into my daily life?

  3. If I stopped focusing on how far I have left to go, what progress would I finally give myself credit for today?
