Taxes.

That is the only thing on my mind for the next 48 hours.

Not groceries.
Not projects.
Not Phase 3 planning.
Not even the dozen other things on my running to-do list.

Just taxes.

I have spent the past few weeks feeling the weight of them sitting in the back of my mind, and I am officially done carrying that weight around. This weekend is about one thing: sitting down, getting focused, and finishing the job.

One thing this journey continues to show me is just how much I am learning about myself. I’m becoming more aware of the habits and behaviors that quietly sabotage my progress.

I am a small business owner, and every single year I sabotage myself when it comes to taxes because I don’t stay on top of my monthly paperwork. Instead of handling things as I go, I let it pile up… and then I’m left staring at an entire year of bookkeeping that needs to be done all at once.

The frustrating part is that I’ve recognized this pattern for years.

And I’ve still chosen to ignore it.

Not anymore.

This has to become a priority for me. I never want to find myself in this position again, racing the clock and trying to force everything together at the last minute. It’s unnecessary stress, and I’m done doing that to myself.

So here it is, in writing — a promise to myself.

I will spend 2026 building a routine around my month-end business paperwork for both of my businesses. No more letting it pile up. No more avoiding it.

Just consistent, intentional follow-through.

2026 is a year of growth and repair for me. I’m learning how to live inside routines and structures that actually support the life I want to build. A life that feels healthier, calmer, and far less stressful.

Health is a major focus for me in this 365 Days of Me journey, and stress reduction is absolutely part of that.

Structure matters.

Routine matters.

They reduce stress, bring clarity, and help keep my ADHD from running the show.

So for the next 48 hours, my focus is simple.

Taxes.

Clear the weight.
Finish the job.
And move forward with a better system in place.

Sometimes growth doesn’t look exciting or inspiring. Sometimes it looks like sitting down and handling the things we’ve been avoiding for far too long.

But those moments matter.

Every time we face something we’ve been putting off, we take a little bit of our power back. And every small system we build for ourselves makes the next step forward a little easier.

This weekend may not feel glamorous, but it’s an important step toward building a life that feels lighter, calmer, and more intentional.

And that’s exactly what this journey is about.

Journaling Prompts

  1. What responsibility or task have I been avoiding that continues to create stress in my life?

  2. What small routine or system could I put in place that would prevent this stress from building again?

  3. How would my daily life feel different if I handled responsibilities consistently instead of waiting until they become overwhelming?
