Last night would have been a drive-thru night.

Massage ran late.
Stuff was closing.
We were tired.
Going out to eat is our normal.

But when we started tossing around options, nothing felt aligned with where I’m going.

Not in a dramatic way.
Not in a restrictive way.
Just… not aligned.

So we both decided to eat at home.

And here’s the crazy part — it didn’t feel like I was depriving myself.

It felt empowering.

Old me would’ve said, “It’s late. It doesn’t matter.”
Or “We’ll start again tomorrow.”

But this time I realized something:
I didn’t want it.

That’s different.

When your identity shifts, your choices shift quietly.
There’s no fight.
There’s just clarity.

And that feels really good.

Growth doesn’t always look dramatic. Sometimes it looks like bone broth at 8pm and peace.

3 Journaling Prompts

  1. Where in my life am I choosing what’s familiar instead of what’s aligned?
What would the aligned choice look like — even in a small way?

  2. What does “alignment” actually feel like in my body?
Calm? Steady? Clear? How is that different from urgency or habit?

  3. What small choice this week could reinforce the identity I’m becoming?
    Not dramatic. Just intentional.
