Healing & Self-Commitment

“This year begins with a promise to myself: to listen more closely, move more gently, and choose what truly nourishes my mind, body, and soul.”

And so it begins…

I always feel a sense of guilt when I take time off from daycare. It feels selfish, even though I know it isn’t. This year was no different. My contract clearly outlines my scheduled time off, and I remind families more than once throughout the year — yet somehow, there is almost always at least one parent who unintentionally (or not) lays on the guilt. And every single time… it gets to me.

This year, I truly tried to let it go and enjoy the break I so deeply needed. Still, that quiet anxiety lingered in the background. Will everyone return after my break? Did someone find a new provider? Those fears and insecurities like to sneak in, even when I try my best to brush them aside.

But let me tell you what this break has done for me.

It has calmed my nervous system and cleared my head. I feel grounded again. I’m genuinely excited to see my kiddos — I’ve missed them. This time away allowed me to rest, reset, and prioritize my own health and well-being. I’m coming back with a better attitude, renewed energy, and a full heart, ready to make 2026 an amazing year for all of us.

I’m feeling inspired again. I have fresh ideas for activities and play, and new ways to encourage curiosity, creativity, and positivity in those little minds. Most importantly, I’m no longer burnt out.

I’m ready.

This year, my focus is on elevationMind. Body. Soul. For myself and for everyone around me. I’ve learned that when I’m surrounded by positivity (including from the kids), it’s easier to give my best self in return.

2026 is about growth — in every sense of the word — and I’m stepping into it with intention, clarity, and confidence.
